Setsurei

Under a crisp, clear winter sky, they stand out, simply beautiful.

I have assumed the title of Kyusetsu XIII.
On this occasion,
my mind is called anew to the earnest efforts of generations of my ancestors
in creating their work and continuing to fire the kiln.
At the same time,
I am inspired to renew my own dedication to my work.
At times forceful, at times gentle:
I feel as if I am gazing at the mountains
covered with fallen snow.

Takashimaya has graciously provided me with the opportunity to hold an
exhibition commemorating the assumption of my new name.
I hope you will honor me by coming to see my work.
